Here's what you can expect during your session
-
Before The Session
Once you have booked your 45 minute session online, please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled start time.
There will be 15 minutes between sessions for us to give the sauna a quick clean and get it ready for your session.
You can arrive earlier to do your first (optional) cold plunge in the sea beforehand but that's totally up to you. If the tide is out, don't worry! We will have buckets full with cold water for you to pour over yourself if you would still like the cold water experience.
Please read our FAQs and make sure to discuss any health concerns you may have with your doctor well in advance. By agreeing to participate in our one of our sauna sessions, you will have to agree and understand our waiver form before your session.
We advise to bring as little personal items as possible. We will have a box for you to put your belongings in if you wish to and a small private changing room and we will have a member of staff on site at all times, however detox takes no responsibility for lost items.
Please bring your booking confirmation as proof of your booking. -
The Sauna Experience
Now it’s time to completely detox and feel the benefits of this experience. We will already have our wood fired saunas warmed up for you and ready to go. Inside the sauna there will be benches that can sit up to 6 people at a time (depending on the number of people booked into your session). You will most likely be sharing your session with other sauna users which is a great way to meet like-minded people and connect to our community.
In a typical sauna session, you start by warming up in the sauna, followed by cooling down, resting, and hydrating. Your time in the sauna should be based on your comfort level, with a suggested limit of 15 minutes per round. However, if 3-5 minutes feels right for you, that's perfectly fine. Take it easy and enjoy!
Inside the saunas, we will have body & massage scrubs for you to scrub yourself with to enhance your sauna experience, alongside essential oils that you can add to the ladle when pouring water over the sauna stones.
To cool down, you can relax in the changing room, step outside for a breath of fresh air, lounge on our outdoor seats, pour yourself with cold water from one of our buckets (great for when the tide is out!) or take a refreshing dip in the nearby sea. Please note that dipping in the sea is at your own discretion and is completely optional. Take your time and do what feels right for you on the day and take it slow. When immersing yourself into cold water, please give your body time to adjust.

After The Session
Once your session is finished, feel free to cool down once more by taking a final dip in the sea, rinsing off using our buckets or just relaxing nearby.
Then, you can gather your belongings from the boxes and use the private changing room to change back into your clothes (we recommend bringing something nice and warm for after your session!). Grab a coffee from the nearby coffee truck and maybe take a stroll on Leasowe Bay. The endorphins will be flowing through your body and you will feel amazing!
Dipping In The Sea
Please note that dipping in the sea is at your own discretion and is completely optional. Take your time and do what feels right for you on the day and take it slow. When immersing yourself into cold water, please give your body time to adjust.
If you want to dip in the sea and the tide is out, don't worry! We will have watering cans full with cold water for you to pour over yourself if you would still like the cold water experience.
